Kirindy Forest
Today is a full day of discovery and adventure! We’ll set out early to visit the Kirindy Reserve, stopping en route to admire the beauty of the famous Baobab Avenue at sunrise. In Kirindy, you’ll have the chance to see seven species of lemurs, including the fat-tailed lemur and the tiny pygmy mouse lemur, thought to be the world’s smallest primate. Kirindy is the best place to spot the giant jumping rat and the fossa (Madagascar’s largest predator), as well as various spiny tenrecs, birds, and reptiles. The flora includes three of Madagascar’s six endemic baobabs.
After exploring Kirindy, we head north to Tsimafana, where we’ll take the ferry across to Belo sur Tsiribihina. After another road transfer, we’ll arrive at our destination for the day, Bekopaka, in the evening. Please note the road is in very poor condition, so expect a long, bumpy ride.

Baobab Alley
Today, we will visit Bemaraha National Park to search for the Grand Tsingy. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990, the area features unique geography, well-preserved mangrove forests, and remarkable bird and lemur species. We will trek throughout the park, where the karst landscape and deciduous forest serve as a refuge for rare and endangered species. The park is home to over 11 lemur species, 90 bird species, and 50 types of reptiles, some of which we may be lucky to spot on our hikes through the reserve. The Grand Tsingy is renowned for its pinnacles—a forest of limestone pillars and plateaus—with some needles reaching several hundred meters high. We’ll spend the day exploring this magnificent geological site.
