You will arrive in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, where you will be met in the morning at the airport or at your hotel, depending on the required collection point. You will have the rest of the day at leisure to explore the bustling city. You will absorb local culture by strolling through bustling marketplaces or seeing historical landmarks that display Madagascar's unique blend of traditional Malagasy and colonial influences. This first day sets the tone for the journey ahead, urging you to embrace Antananarivo's attitude before continuing on an enthralling exploration of Madagascar's natural and cultural attractions.

Day 2

Andasibe-Mantadia National Park

Andasibe-Mantadia National Park

After a brief driving tour around Tana, you will drive to Andasibe through the green and luxuriant vegetation of the east. This first step brings you to the humid part of the country with many primary forests and lakes, and the landscape consists of rice fields, waterfalls, and scarce forest stations. Along the way, you will see villages of the Merina people scattered throughout the rocky mountainside. You will check-in at the hotel, and then you will embark on a night walk within the Andasibe area to observe the nocturnal lemurs and other animals.

Day 3

Andasibe-Mantadia National Park

Andasibe-Mantadia National Park

After breakfast, you will take a morning visit to the special reserve of Andasibe, where you will discover the many species dwelling in the forest. In particular, your guide will search for the Indri, the largest lemurs on the island. This 810-ha reserve is unique with its endemic fauna and flora. It contains a wide variety of orchids, canopy, and endemic animals like chameleons, tenrecs, and many birds. In the afternoon, you will visit the V.O.I..M.M.A community reserve. This reserve provides a sustainable way of saving the remaining rainforests in the area by creating a livelihood for the local communities through reforestation projects. Here, you will also come across a variety of wildlife, ranging from brown lemurs, indri, chameleons, geckos, and birds.

Day 4

Antananarivo

You will transfer back to Antananarivo, followed by a cycling tour up to Ambohimanga King’s Palace; the birthplace of the Merina Kingdom. It is the only site that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. To this day it still holds spirituality and sacred significance. As you pedal through the landscapes, the Ambohimanga King's Palace beckons with its rich history and architectural marvels. You will delve into the past as you navigate through the hallowed grounds that echo with the whispers of a bygone era. You will witness the enduring spirituality and sacred significance that still graces this exceptional site, allowing you to connect with the cultural roots that have shaped Madagascar's identity over the centuries.
