Following a picnic lunch, likely beside the hippo pool, begin your ascent from the crater rim, departing the Conservation area. Hike the highest free standing mountain in the world
Your adventure begins with a convenient hotel pick-up in either Moshi or Arusha. From there, you'll start a leisurely drive to the Marangu Gate, Starting on the south-east side of Kilimanjaro, at an altitude of 1,879 meters above sea level and finishing at 2,720 meters in Mandara Hut then descending back to 1,879 meters above sea level. At the gate is where you'll complete the necessary registration with the authorities before commencing your eagerly anticipated hike. This route approaches the mountain from the southeast. The primary objective for the day is to reach Mandara Hut, the initial stopping point for full-scale treks, and return. During this journey, you'll traverse the lower altitudes, enjoying a picnic lunch at 01; 00 pm/13;00hrs at Mandara Hut. Upon arrival, a well-deserved 30 to 45-minute rest period will reinvigorate you before beginning the gradual descent back to the Main Gate. As you return, our driver will be waiting to transport you back to Arusha.
