Karera Waterfall Visit and the Gishora Drum Sanctuary in Gitega
Today, after enjoying a warm breakfast, you will be driven to visit the Karera Waterfalls. This spectacular series of waterfalls is located in southeastern Burundi, south of Rutana. The falls cover almost 1.5km² (1mi²) and comprise six branches divided across three landings.
After you visit the waterfalls, you will return to Gitega City for lunch. Following lunch, you will visit the Gishora Drum Sanctuary to experience a unique traditional performance. You will meet renowned drummers who will explain the significance of this UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Site. Then, you can take a seat to enjoy a fascinating show that combines the sounds of drumbeats with dances, heroic poetry, and traditional songs, lasting about one hour.

City Tour and Boat Ride on Rusizi River and Transfer to the Airport
After a relaxing breakfast, you will depart at 8:30am to begin your city tour of Bujumbura. The tour will start with a boat ride along the Rusizi River in Rusizi National Park, leading to Lake Tanganyika, where you can observe hippos, various bird species and crocodiles. Next, you will visit the living museum before returning downtown for lunch. After lunch, you will be transferred to the airport.
