Masai Mara National Reserve
After the morning breakfast at 6.30 am, you will leave for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. The search for great wild animals continues. On the plains are large herds of herbivores grazing and cheetahs and leopards hiding in their locations. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is, for this reason, a visitor hardly misses seeing the Big Five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino). At Masai Mara, you will have an opportunity to drive down to the Mara River, the site of the Great Migration when in season—July through October. The immense herds of wildebeests and zebras are a magnificent sight, matched only by the drama of the predators who lie in wait for them.
For more experience at an extra cost, you will have the alternative of visiting the nearby Maasai community and witnessing their lifestyle and their traditional culture. Another alternative is a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride high above the reserve.
