Dar es Salaam to Mikumi Maasai Village

You'll meet your guide at the hotel at 8:30 am and depart to Mikumi National Park, a 6-hour drive, arriving around 3:00 pm, You'll have a game drive on the way to the lodge. After a short rest at 4:00 pm, you will start walking to Maasai village for activities until 6:30 pm. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Mikumi Bastian Camp.

Mikumi National Park

Early morning at 7:30 am after breakfast, you will drive to Mikumi National Park for a full-day game drive until sunset. While on safari, you can see a rich variety of bird species, as well as large numbers of giraffes, buffalos, and elephants. If you are lucky, you may also be able to spot lions and leopards. Other animals you're likely to see include zebras, hippos, hartebeests, wildebeests, impalas, warthogs, elands and antelopes. Your overnight stay will be at Mikumi Camp Bastian.

Udzungwa Mountains National Park Trekking

Early morning after breakfast at 7:00 am with lunch boxes packed, you will drive to Udzungwa Mountain for 60 kilometers. On arrival, you will check in at the park headquarters. Thereafter, you will start hiking to Sanje Waterfall which is about 170m above sea level dropping in four different stages. Sanje waterfall is the highest waterfall in the Tanzania National Park system and here it is a cool place for swimming with fantastic views. The hiking will take 5 hours to hike and return and be on your way. You will be rewarded with encounters with primates like monkeys, get to watch the unique and rare monkey primates such as the endangered Iringa red Colobus monkey and the Sanje Crested Mangabey only found in this park, also watch birds, butterflies, plants, and some reptiles which will give you a memorable experience. You will have lunch in the park, and return to start the drive to Mikumi Camp Bastian for dinner and an overnight stay.

Drive Back to Dar es Salaam

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive back to Dar es Salaam and cross Mikumi National Park on the way you have time to spot animals again. You'll be arriving and be dropped off at the ferry or airport.
