After breakfast in Arusha (1400m), you'll be picked up and taken to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. Porters organize gear while you register. The hike starts, resembling a walking safari with potential wildlife sightings like giraffes and zebras. An armed ranger, hired from the park, ensures safety. The trail passes Ngarenanyuki River and a waterfall at Mount Meru's base. At Miriakamba Hut (2500m), your chef provides dinner and washing water. Enjoy the sunset and stay overnight.

Day 2

Post-breakfast, embark on the steep ascent along the ridge of the saddle, offering glimpses of diverse wildlife. The trail provides views of Mount Meru Crater and the Ash Tray. Upon reaching camp, you can choose to hike Little Mount Meru (3820m) with your guide for additional acclimatization. An early dinner is served to ensure sufficient rest before your midnight summit attempt. Aim to be asleep by 7:00 pm!

Day 3

At 12:30 am, your guide will rouse you for tea and biscuits, preparing for a summit attempt commencing at 1:30 am. The trail initially ascends steeply from Rhino Point (3800m) to Cobra Point (4350m). In the final hour, you'll navigate a rocky ridge between the crater and inner cliffs of Meru. Reaching the summit of Meru (4565m) at sunrise, you'll be greeted by breathtaking views of Mount Meru Ash Tray and Mount Kilimanjaro. Take in the scenery, then descend to Momella Gate before returning to Arusha.
