Day 1

Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park

Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park

You will be picked up after breakfast from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and then heading to Nyerere National Park. You will arrive during lunch time, and the journey will take about 5 hours. In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari, where you’ll admire hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Usually the afternoon boat trip leaves camp at 4 p.m. and returns at 6:30 p.m. It is an ideal trip; you will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Rufiji River with many hippos, crocodiles, and beautiful birdlife. Boat safaris are one of the best excursions for bird enthusiasts. The park has over 350 bird species, and the river is the place where they congregate in great numbers and are easily seen in the open environment. Meals and overnights will be at Africa Safari Camp.

Day 2

Nyerere National Park

After breakfast, you will have a full-day game drive in the park. Your safari guide will point out rare species of animals like the wild dogs and black rhinoceros, as well as other animals like the Nile crocodile and hippopotamus along the banks of the Rufiji River, Cape buffalo, hartebeest eland, and sable antelopes.

Nyerere National Park is home to a large population of elephants, a large number of buffalos, and wild dogs. Other species commonly seen are lions, bushbucks, impalas, giraffes, baboons, zebras, and kudus.
Picnic lunch and drinks will be served in the wilderness before heading back to camp for dinner and overnight at the Africa Safari Camp.

Day 3

This day you will have a full day game drive. Therefore, after breakfast your journey will start towards around the park. And during lunch, you may decide to take your packed lunch with you since morning or you may go back to the camp for lunch and have some rest until evening game drive. And then after you have finish your game drive activity you will heading back to camp for dinner and overnight at the Africa safari Camp.

Day 4

Nyerere to Mikumi National Park

Nyerere to Mikumi National Park

After breakfast, we shall go for a walking safari, the most exciting experience unique in Tanzania, accompanied by armed game ranger for about two hours thereafter proceed with game viewing end-route to Mikumi National park on the way enjoying the landscape. After waling safari you will go back to the camp for dinner and overnight ( Camp Atupele).

Day 5

Mikumi National Park

Morning after breakfast, we shall go for a full day game viewing in the park. The Mikumi flood plain is the main feature of the park along with the bordering mountain ranges. Animals commonly found here include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, hippo and elephant. The Mikumi elephants are mainly grazers and do not cause damage. In the evening, we return to the campsite for dinner and overnight at Camp Atupele.

Day 6

Mikumi to Dar es Salam

Mikumi to Dar es Salam

After breakfast from the campsite with our packed lunch boxes we shall visit Maasai Village near the park to see and enjoy their life, then drive to Dar es Salaam via Morogoro town. We shall arrive late afternoon or early evening, drop off at the airport/ hotel or Ferry just in case you have any other schedule.
