Day 1

Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park

Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park

After breakfast from your hotel in Dar es Salaam, you will be heading to Nyerere National Park. The journey will take about 5 hours, and you will arrive during lunch time. It is an ideal trip if you would like to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the river. In the afternoon, you will have a boat trip to admire hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat around the Rufiji River. Usually the afternoon boat trip leaves camp at 4 p.m. and returns at 6:30 p.m. Boat Safaris are also the best excursions for bird enthusiasts. The river has over 350 bird species and offers an opportunity to try fishing with tiger fish and catfish. Meals and overnights are provided at the Camp.

Day 2

Nyerere National Park

Second day will be a full day game drive and your trip will start right after breakfast. Your safari guide will point out rare species of animals like the Wild Dogs, and black rhinoceros. And other animals like Nile crocodile, hippopotamus Sable antelopes Cape buffalo, hartebeest and Eland along the banks of the Rufiji River. Nyerere National Park is a home to large population of elephants, big number of buffalos and wild dogs. Other species commonly seen are lions, bushbucks, impalas, giraffes, baboons, zebras, and Kudus. Picnic lunch and drinks will be served in the wilderness before heading back to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Nyerere to Mikumi National Park

Nyerere to Mikumi National Park

After breakfast, we shall go for a walking safari, the most exciting experience unique in Tanzania, accompanied by armed game ranger for about two hours thereafter proceed with game viewing en-route to Mikumi National park on the way enjoying the landscape. Dinner and overnight at the Camp.

Day 4

Mikumi National Park

Mikumi National Park

Morning after breakfast, we shall go for a full day game viewing in the park. The Mikumi flood plain is the main feature of the park along with the bordering mountain ranges. Animals commonly found here include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, hippo and elephant. The Mikumi elephants are mainly grazers and do not cause damage. In the evening, we return to the campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Mikumi to Dar es Salaam

Mikumi to Dar es Salaam

After breakfast from the campsite with our packed lunch boxes we shall visit Maasai Village near the park to see and enjoy their life, then drive to Dar es Salaam via Morogoro town. We shall arrive late afternoon or early evening, drop off at the airport/ hotel or Ferry just in case you have any other schedule.
