Transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park

Our company representative will receive you on arrival at Kigali Airport, either at the airport or hotel. You will do a city tour in Kigali and then leave the lively capital for Akagera National Park. Upon arrival, you will check in to your accommodation at the lodge, have lunch at the Mantis Akagera Game Lodge. In the afternoon, you will go for a canoe ride on Lake Ihema to see aquatic animals like hippos and crocodiles as well as water birds like the papyrus gonolek, shoebill stork and African fish eagle. Return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay at the Mantis Akagera Game Lodge.

Game drive and Later return back to Kigali

Your second and last day of the tour will start very early in the morning. After a filling breakfast, you leave for a full-day safari game drive in the park. We can expect to see the Big Five mammals (lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo and leopard) as well as antelope, kob, and baboon, among others. Akagera National Park is a varied habitat for wildlife species in Rwanda and a birder's haven with more than 500 bird species in the park. Later, you will transfer back to Kigali.
