Your safari adventure begins with a drive from Arusha to the Mariakamba Hut, located on the slopes of Mount meru. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by breathtaking views of the mountain and its surrounding landscapes. The Mariakamba Hut serves as a perfect base for trekking and exploring the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro, offering a tranquil retreat with panoramic views of the valley below. After settling in, embark on a scenic hike through the lush rainforest, where you’ll experience diverse flora and fauna, including unique bird species and tropical plants. As you ascend, enjoy the cool mountain air and stunning vistas. In the late afternoon, return to the hut to relax and enjoy a hearty meal, soaking in the serenity of the surroundings.

Day 2

Your safari journey continues as you depart from Mariakamba Hut and begin the hike toward Saddle Hut, located between the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro. The trek takes you through diverse landscapes, from lush rainforest to alpine meadows, offering stunning views of the towering peaks. As you ascend, the air grows thinner, and the environment becomes more rugged. Upon reaching Saddle Hut, take a short break to soak in the majestic surroundings. Have lunch in afternoon Afterward, continue your hike towards Horombo Hut, your destination for the night. The path offers panoramic views of the plains below and the imposing Kilimanjaro peaks above. Once at Horombo Hut, settle in for an overnight stay. Enjoy a warm meal and relax, reflecting on the day's adventure while surrounded by the serene beauty of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Starting early, at approximately 1:30 a.m., you will ascend steeply to Rhino Point (3,800 m.) and then continue to Cobra Point (4350 m.). When you get to the top (4,566 m), you might be able to see Kilimanjaro Peak above the clouds in time for sunrise. The last portion of the climb follows a breathtakingly narrow ridgeline that sits between the crater's sloping outer wall and its sheer inner cliffs. After having brunch and a quick break at Saddle Hut, you will descend to Meriakamba Hut.

Once you reach Momella Gate in the late morning, you will make a quick and easy descent through open grassland and mixed forest, with a chance to see wildlife. When the return transfer arrives at Momella Gate, it will be ready to take you to your Arusha/Moshi hotel.
