Meriakamba Hut (Full Board)

From Arusha, you will travel by car to Momela-Gate. A fully armed ranger will accompany you on your walk after you complete a brief registration at the gate. Elephants, zebras, giraffes, monkeys, antelopes, and often elephants are among the wild creatures you may spot along the way. You will spend the night and dinner at Miriakamba Hut.

Saddle Hut (Full Board)

It's a short day walk but a steep climb from Miriakamba-Hut to the saddle below Little Meru. You can enjoy a breathtaking view of the magnificent Ash Cone and the Meru Crater by strolling leisurely along the ridge. You can take a quick hike to the top of Little Meru (3,820m) for breathtaking views right before dusk, following a hearty lunch at Saddle Hut. You will spend the night and dinner at Saddle Hut.

Summit (Full Board)

Starting early, at approximately 1:30 a.m., you will ascend steeply to Rhino Point (3,800 m.) and then continue to Cobra Point (4350 m.). When you get to the top (4,566 m), you might be able to see Kilimanjaro Peak above the clouds in time for sunrise. The last portion of the climb follows a breathtakingly narrow ridgeline that sits between the crater's sloping outer wall and its sheer inner cliffs. After having brunch and a quick break at Saddle Hut, you will descend to Meriakamba Hut.

Hike: 5 km up, 13 km down; duration: 10–12 hours; habitat: montane forest and moorlands in the Alpine Desert.

Meriakamba Hut to Momella Gate to Arusha/Moshi (Half board)

Once you reach Momella Gate in the late morning, you will make a quick and easy descent through open grassland and mixed forest, with a chance to see wildlife. When the return transfer arrives at Momella Gate, it will be ready to take you to your Arusha/Moshi hotel.
