You'll have an early morning breakfast at your residence or your hotel in Kigali, Rwanda. Afterward, your guide will meet and greet you and do the chimpanzee and lowland gorilla trekking briefing. You will then visit the Kigali genocide museum to pay your last respects to the victims of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide against Tutsi. This will be followed by a transfer to Nyungwe National Park. Your overnight stay will be at Ken Barham Guesthouse or similar.

Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk, Nyungwe National Park - Rusiizi
At 4:30 am, you'll have an early morning breakfast or order a packed breakfast. This will be followed by a meeting with the ranger guide at Gisakura. Then, you'll transfer to Cyamudongo and or Uwinka Visitors Center to begin with chimpanzee trekking and subsequently, there will be a canopy walk that starts at Uwinka Visitors Center. Then, you'll transfer to Lake Kivu, Cyangungu. Your overnight stay will be at Emeraude Kivu Resort or similar.

After an early morning breakfast, be prepared with your passport to go crossing the border at Rusizi (1) and proceed to Kahuzi Biega National Park to participate in the lowland gorilla tracking on arrival. You’ll be accompanied by the ranger guide and his team of trackers to hike into the forest in search of the gentle giants. Once you find them, you’ll be allowed to stay with them for an hour. After the experience, you'll return to the starting point. Then, you'll transfer back to Bukavu. Your overnight stay will be at Nediva Bed & Breakfast or similar.

An early morning breakfast, will be followed by a transfer to the Ihusi port take take a ferry north to Goma. On arrival, you'll do immigration clearance and then transfer to Rwanda using the Grand Barriere border. After the immigration clearance, you'll proceed to the hotel. Your overnight stay will be at Paradise Malahide Hotel.

Kinunui Coffee Tour Experience- Volcanoes National Park
You'll enjoy a live experience of how coffee is grown and catered for until it reaches the cup it’s a unique ecotourism attraction with a big involvement of the local community. After an early morning breakfast, you'll transfer by boat to Kinunu for the coffee experience. Afterward, you'll return to Rubavu for lunch and this will be followed by a transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Your overnight stay will be at The Garden Place or similar.

Optional Rwanda Gorilla Tracking Volcanoes NP
Today get ready to participate in the Rwanda Gorilla Trekking. You'll need a gorilla trekking ticket at an additional cost of $1,500 or participate in the alternative Bosoke Volcano Hike.
An early morning breakfast will be followed by a transfer to Kinigi Park Headquarters for a trekking briefing. Then, you'll hike up into the rainforest to a troop of magnificent mountain gorillas. Each troop has its own 24-hour guard, so their location is known. You usually have an hour with them, which is enough time to sit and observe them at very close quarters indeed. After the day experience, you'll return to the lodge. Your overnight stay will be at Muhabura Hotel or similar.

Golden Monkey Trekking, Volcanoes NP - Kigali
After an early morning breakfast, you'll transfer to the park headquarters at Kinigi to go for golden monkey tracking. These primates are beautiful, endangered, and more agile than the mountain gorillas. They live in bamboo thickets on the lower slopes of the mountains—tracking them acclimatizes you perfectly to the slight altitude, marking your last views of the park's environs. This will be followed by a transfer back to Kigali marking the end of your Rwanda and Congo gorilla trip.
