Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

At around 8 am, you will drive from Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive in Masai Mara and have lunch at your chosen accommodation. In the afternoon, you will head out on an afternoon game drive, exploring the vast plains and wildlife of the Mara. Keep an eye out for the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros) and the many other species that call the park home.

In the evening, return to your lodge or camp for dinner and relaxation. Some lodges offer traditional entertainment or stargazing sessions.

Full-day game drive at Masai Mara National Reserve

You will begin the day with an early morning game drive when wildlife is most active. You might witness predators on the hunt or catch a glimpse of the great migration (if visiting during the migration season). Enjoy a bush breakfast surrounded by the scenic beauty of Masai Mara after the fantastic morning game drive.

Return to your accommodation for lunch and a chance to relax during the heat of the day. In the afternoon, you head out for another game drive, or you can choose to visit a Maasai village to learn about the local culture and traditions (at an extra cost). Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and perhaps share your safari experiences with fellow travelers around a campfire.

Masai Mara National Reserve to Lake Nakuru

After breakfast at your camp or lodge in Masai Mara, check out and depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. The drive from Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru will approximately take 5 hours, allowing you to enjoy the scenic views along the way. Upon arrival at Lake Nakuru National Reserve and proceed to your chosen accommodation, for check-in and lunch. After lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. Keep an eye out for the park's famous rhino population, including both black and white rhinos. You can also spot other wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species. Visit the shores of Lake Nakuru, known for its pink hue due to the large flocks of flamingos that inhabit the lake. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife sightings during the game drive. Return to your accommodation in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Ensure you arrive at the Nairobi SGR Terminus well in advance of your scheduled train departure. Board the SGR train for a comfortable and scenic ride to Mombasa, and enjoy the beautiful countryside views along the way. Depending on the train's schedule, you may have lunch onboard or enjoy it upon your arrival in Mombasa. Arrive at the Mombasa SGR Terminus in the afternoon. We will arrange for a transfer to take you from the terminus to Diani Beach which is about a 1.5 to 2-hour drive. Check in at your chosen accommodation in Diani where you will enjoy dinner at your beachside hotel or lodge.

Transfer from Diani to Nairobi city

Spend your morning with some final relaxation or explore any last-minute attractions in Diani before you check out of your accommodation. We will arrange for transportation to take you back to the Mombasa SGR Terminus for the train back to Nairobi. Arrive at the Nairobi SGR Terminus in the evening, concluding your trip. We will organize your transfer to the JKIA Airport.
