Swakopmund and the Skeleton Coast

Today, our adventure leads us toward the legendary Skeleton Coast, aptly named for the stretch of shipwrecks and desolate plantlife lining the shoreline. After a four-hour drive, we arrive at Cape Cross where a Portuguese explorer erected a cross in honor of his king. Witness the bustling activity of a thriving seal colony and enjoy lunch while next to the Atlantic Ocean.

Afterward, a one-hour-thirty-minute drive takes us to Swakopmund, where you'll stroll through streets of German colonial architecture and enjoy the sights from the jetty. In the afternoon, indulge in oysters on the beach with your guide.

The next morning we head to Walvis Bay for a catamaran cruise. Encounter playful seals, majestic pelicans, and, if lucky, dolphins, all while savoring locally farmed oysters and sparkling wine. Later, travel to the Moon Landscape, an ancient canyon, just outside town.
