Your private safari guide will meet you at your hotel in Kigali with a comfortable 4WD safari vehicle. Begin with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial to honor the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Afterwards, drive north-west through Rwanda’s lush hills and vibrant market towns towards the Uganda border. Cross into Uganda and continue to the stunning Mgahinga Gorilla National Park (approximately 4 hours). Overnight at Travelers Rest Hotel or similar.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, transfer to the ranger station for a pre-trek briefing on gorilla trekking protocols. Accompanied by experienced rangers, hike into the rainforest in search of mountain gorillas. Once located, you will spend one magical hour with them before returning to your lodge. After breakfast, experience a unique rainforest walking safari from Nkuringo (south) to Buhoma (north). Walk the beautiful Ivy River Trail — 6–7 hours through pristine rainforest, spotting monkeys, birds, duikers, and colorful butterflies along the way.
