You will have a whole day of game drive in this extensive national reserve which is worth adequate time to fully explore. You will either choose to have full-day game drives or morning and afternoon game drives.
After breakfast, you will have a full-day game drive in the Masai Mara. The reserve is well known for its black-maned lions and abundant wildlife. This is one of the few places where it's possible to see the Big Five during a morning game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under vehicles. Known all over the world for its flamingoes and its alkalinity, this park is recognized as being one of the natural wonders of the world. It is also a rhino sanctuary, harboring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos. The flamingoes, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times there may be almost two million of them in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lakeshore. You will arrive here in time for lunch then go on an afternoon game drive. This park is home to all the Big Five except the elephant, among other wildlife and several species of birds.

An optional visit to a Maasai village can be planned after breakfast at an extra cost. You will see the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.

Day 5
Amboseli National Park Experience
Amboseli National Park Experience
You'll wake up early for a good view of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit. Most of the park consists of dry, ancient lake beds and fragile grassland with patches of acacia woodland. In the southern area, there are several small, rocky, volcanic hills. Around the Olokenya and Enkongo Narok swamps, the vegetation is lush with yellow-barked acacias and phoenix palms. Amboseli National Park is famous for getting close to free-ranging elephants. Amboseli was home to Echo, perhaps the most researched elephant in the world, and the subject of many books/documentaries followed for almost four decades by American conservationist Dr. Cynthia Moss. The park offers some of the best opportunities to see African wildlife because the vegetation is sparse due to the long, dry months. The protected area is home to African bush elephants, Cape buffalos, impalas, lions, cheetahs, and spotted hyenas among others.
You'll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
