Day 1

Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

Early morning, enjoy your buffer breakfast, check out of the hotel, and drive heading to the western province; on your way, visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in the Southern Province; this will give you a great history of traditional ways of living among Rwandans and their past way of leadership of Kingship with an enroute lunch. You will arrive at Nyungwe National Park in the afternoon and spend the afternoon at your leisure. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel (midrange lodge) Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Day 2

Today, after your early morning cap of African coffee, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe, known for having 13 species of primates, and transferred to the park for briefing and chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour to find the chimpanzees. After the chimpanzee trek, head for lunch before heading for a canopy walk. This 70 meters-suspended metallic bridge will give you an excellent overview of Nyungwe forest and, on a lucky day, spot one or two more primates in the forest as you take a walk on this bridge and later return in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel (midrange lodge).

Day 3

Colobus Monkey Trek & Tea Plantation Visit

Colobus Monkey Trek & Tea Plantation Visit

After your morning breakfast, you will head to the park for briefing before you search for the colobus monkeys, and on finding them, you will be allowed to take as many pictures as you wish. Return for lunch, and after lunch, head for the tea plantation visit to visit the Gisakura tea gardens and learn how tea is plated to harvesting time and processing. You will take great photos and later drive back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel (mid-range lodge).

Day 4

Nyungwe to Gisenyi

Nyungwe to Gisenyi

After a relaxed morning breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Kivu to catch up with the beautiful sunrise over Lake Kivu after finishing your morning breakfast. You will explore the beautiful attractions within this great lake. You have a nature walk at one of the islands within this lake, known for harboring thousands of bats. This lake is also known as a birding paradise as it hosts several bird species like the command, pied kingfishers, weaver birds, and heron to mention but a few, overnight stay at Kivu Serena Hotel.
