One of Africa's Seven Wonders and home to one of the planet's most amazing ecosystems, this UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was created by a tremendous volcanic explosion millions of years ago. It encompasses over 260 square kilometers and is 610 meters deep. Of all the parks in Tanzania, the crater provides the best game watching because of its rich animal population, which numbers about 25,000. You can view some of the more than 500 bird species in the area as well as elephants, zebras, gazelles, and wildebeests in a couple of minutes.
