Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your accommodation in Arusha or from the airport and head straight to Tarangire National Park in the Manyara Region.

The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. Ranking as the 6th largest national park in Tanzania and covering an area of 2,600km² (1,000mi²), it is most popular for its large elephant herds and is usually very dry, in fact, drier than the Serengeti.

However, its vegetation is much greener with lots of grass, vast areas with mixed acacia woodlands, and some of the wonderful ribbons of the aquatic forest.

Also, do not forget about the giant baobab trees that can live up to 600 years, storing between 300 and 900 liters (80 and 240 galons) of water. In the afternoon, you will break for lunch. After lunch, the game drive continues until the late afternoon.

Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up and depart for the Serengeti via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way, you will enjoy scenic views of Tanzania, hop off the vehicle to view the Ngorongoro Crater, and experience the Serengeti plains.

Serengeti National Park is a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife. Over 2 million ungulates, 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, 550 cheetahs, and some 500 bird species inhabit an area close to 15,000km² (5,800mi²) in size.

Most visitors come here with one aim alone—to witness millions of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and eland on a mass trek to quench their thirst for water and to eat fresh grass.

During this great cyclical movement, these ungulates move around the ecosystem in a seasonal pattern defined by rainfall and grass nutrients.

Lunch will be offered on the vehicle during the safari. By late afternoon, you will arrive at Nyani Campsite to rest, dine, and cherish the greatest moments you gathered during the safari.

Main Destination:

Best Time To Visit January to February and June to October (Different areas are best at different times)

This area gives a fantastic 360-degree view of the surrounding endless plains. It has coffee shops and other shops where you can buy souvenirs, maps, snacks, etc.

We will stop at the Ngorongoro viewpoint for 10 to 15 minutes to take pictures of the crater's astonishing views and learn a short history of how it was formed.

Lunch will be served at the campsite or the hippo pool picnic site. The hippo pool is a small pool in the southern part of the Ngorongoro Crater, inhabited by a bloat of hippos. It is one of the few areas where tourists are allowed to alight from their vehicles and have a picnic or meal. Occasionally, you may also see animals come to drink from the pool.

Ngorongoro is a World Heritage Site due to its astonishing wildlife experiences. The crater is the only one in the world filled with abundant wildlife that spends their whole lives inside it.
