Since we're in the capital, let's discover an interesting eco-tourism spot. Today, we're heading for Ankafobe, the harbour of Tampoketsa. Stop off in the small village of Ambohimanarina to visit a charcoal stove workshop. The manufacture of these stoves has become the culture of the people living in this village. In addition to farming and livestock breeding. Aftrwards, we continue our journey to reach the Ankafobe reserve. Whether you're a history buff or a nature lover, the 30-hectare Ankafobe forest is well worth a visit. This is where the Sohisika or “Schizolaena Tampoketsana” grows, considered to be one of the rarest trees in the world. A number of animal species also live in this prodigious reserve, including reptiles, amphibians, birds and the Eulemur fulvus: all live freely in the reserve. After an exciting hike, you'll catch a glimpse of the famous Andriamamovoka waterfall. Of course, this outing promises breathtaking scenery and a guaranteed return to the source.

Lose yourself in the lush greenery of tropical forests, serene rice paddies, and majestic waterfalls. Stopover at Manjakandriana to visit some interesting sites starting with Akany Tantely. As an apiculture resource center, the visit to Akany Tantely opens up the world of high-quality honey production and its environment. Today, we delve into the enchanting world of Andasibe National Park. This biodiversity hotspot is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including the mesmerizing Indri lemurs. These magnificent primates, with their distinctive black and white coats, are a true spectacle to behold. As you trek through the lush rainforest, keep your eyes peeled for these gentle giants as they gracefully swing through the trees. With the help of your knowledgeable guide, you'll have the opportunity to observe these creatures up close and capture unforgettable moments. The day continues with the visit of Vakona Reserve. It features a crocodile lake, various species of reptiles and batrachians, several endemic plants and, above all, an islet of lemurs. You will encounter Madagascar’s dancing lemurs also called Sifaka, the small bamboo lemurs and the Maki vari.

After breakfast, you will take the road to the South, the famous national road 7 towards Antsirabe. Today, we drive to Fianarantsoa. Stopover at Ambositra. This is Madagascar's most productive town for handicrafts. It's the ideal place to visit and discover ancestral art and stock up on souvenirs! To know more about this heritage of Ambositra’s population, we will visit the so-called ‘old Ambositra’. This is none other than the royal palace or Rova. Full of history all along the centuries, the palace was opened to visitors in 1997. The Rova is made up of two black Zafimaniry houses. It is not only a defense system against the enemies but also a splendid viewpoint giving a panoramic view of the whole village of Ambositra. A visit of Ankazomivady primary forest will end this stopover at Ambositra. Here is one of the ideal place to admire orchids and an ideal habitat for its flowering. Note the Aerangis ellisii, Cynorkis saxicola, etc. Resume the road to Fianarantsoa.

To start the day, take a city tour of Fianarantsoa. Enjoy a wonderful time in this town, which is full of treasures from the past. You'll be captivated not only by the texture of the city, but also by its different architectural styles which can be seen in the various houses and ancient churches, especially the Catholic ones. The walk will take us to the upper town, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city of Fianarantsoa. Then, take the road to Ranohira. At about 70km from Fianarantsoa, Anja community reserve is an ideal ecotourism destination. The 0.4 km2 reserve protects a population of about 600 ring-tailed lemurs and stay the best places in the country to observe and photograph these charismatic creatures. In addition, appreciate the panoramic view on the top of this rocky mountain: a perfect mountainous landscape of the countryside. Resume the road to Ranohira. Once there, admire a pleasant sunset through the window of the Isalo: A Postcard-perfect scenery.

We begin our day with a delicious breakfast, followed by a scenic drive to Isalo National Park. We'll explore the park's winding canyons, lush forests, and sparkling pools, taking in the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings. As the sun begins to set, we'll find the perfect spot to witness a spectacular display of color and light. Ranohira offers more than just adventure. Your journey promise the visit of the village of Maromaniry, a "desired-by-many" haven of the Bara people. These strategic settlers live in small, dispersed communities as a defense against past threats. The polygamous family of fifty welcomes us into their mud and thatch homes. We'll meet the revered family head and witness the extraordinary healing rituals for the incurable "Bilo" illness. For the spiritually inclined, a sacred tree stands nearby, ready to hear your wishes. The rest of the day is yours to explore or simply relax in this unique cultural experience.

After breakfast, we drive up to Ambalavao. Enjoy the changing landscapes of the south along the way: savannah, the impressive geology of the Isalo then hills and rice fields as well as Rocky Mountains. Once there, we will visit some interesting workshops. Firstly, you will discover the awe-expertise of Ambalavao’s population in the manufacture of Antemoro paper. The visit at a workshop will show you how to design this wonderful product step by step. Then, you will be visiting a silk fabric workshop. This workshop takes you through the various stages in the transformation of silk, from the tree to the silky, colourful scarf. The visit begins in the courtyard, where you can see the difference between wild and farmed silk, both of which are found in Mada. The women in the workshop then demonstrate how to cook, spin and dye the silk, before moving on to the very impressive weaving stage.
