Embark on your morning adventure as you are picked up from the hotel and journey to Mkomazi National Park. Positioned just 6km from Same town in Tanzania, Mkomazi attained National Park status in 2008, having previously functioned as a Game Reserve since 1951. Encompassing a sprawling expanse of 3,245 square kilometers the park boasts a rich variety of wildlife.
Anticipate encountering giraffes, oryx gerenuks hartebeests, lesser kudus elands, impalas, and grants gazelles sharing the park with majestic elephants buffaloes and an array of predators such as lions leopards and cheetahs.
Nestled along the edge of a semi-arid savanna arc that extends into Kenya’s Tsavo West Mkomazi National Park forms an integral part of the Mkomazi-Tsavo Ecosystem the second-largest transboundary ecosystem in East Africa surpassed only by the famed Serengeti – Maasai Mara. The Umba River tracing the park's southeastern border along with other water holes serves as the primary water source within the park.
