2-Day Exploring Nyerere NP Visit from Dar Es Salaam

Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park (Game Drive)

You'll be picked up at 5:00 AM from the hotel or airport at Dar es Salaam by our driver and drive to Nyerere National Park formally Selous Game Reserve for about 5hr 30 minutes.

This day will be spent on wildlife viewing in the game reserve. The safari guide will point out rare species of animals like wild dogs, sable antelopes, black rhinoceros, Nile crocodiles, hippopotami along the banks of the Rufiji River, Cape buffalos, hartebeests, and elands. Picnic lunch and drinks will be served in the wilderness at noon (1:30 PM) before advancing with the game for the rest hours.

Boat Tour and a Trip back to Dar es Salaam

After breakfast at 7:00 AM, you'll start the boat trip. Usually, the boat trip leaves camp at 7:30 AM and returns at 9:00 AM. It's an ideal trip. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Rufiji River with many hippos, crocodiles, and beautiful birdlife. The sunrise can also be stunning from the boat. There is nothing quite like the serenity of the river while the sun dips below the horizon. After a boat tour at 10:00 AM, you’ll start driving back to Dar es Salaam with a drop-off at the hotel or any point of interest! This will be the end of your safari and we mark it as the beginning of a long-lasting friendship.
