Ngorongoro Crater
On the final day, we'll descend over 600m into the crater for a half-day safari tour. The Ngorongoro Crater, with its year-round water supply and abundant fodder, sustains a diverse array of wildlife, including wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. The crater is also home to a dense population of predators, such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard. We'll explore Lake Magadi, a large shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner of the crater, where flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can be spotted. After lunch, we'll ascend from the crater and return to Arusha/JRO.
