Kilimanjaro/Arusha Airport – Karatu District

Upon your arrival at Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport, you will receive a warm welcome from one of our seasoned driver guides, who will accompany you to your prearranged hotel in Karatu Town. Along the way, if time permits and you're up for it, there will be opportunities for brief stops where your guide will provide insights into the city and country.

In the past, the region surrounding Karatu and OlDeani held significant importance for the German colonial administration. Its temperate climate, lush hills, and picturesque landscapes attracted settlers and farmers alike. Coffee emerged as a primary export crop, with several large farms still privately owned, cultivating this valuable commodity in the hills and valleys adjacent to the town. Karatu boasts stunning vistas of the northern highlands and serves as a favored stopover for travelers en route to Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park.
