The hotel is about 10 to 20 minutes from Entebbe International Airport.

If time allows, drive to Entebbe Botanical Gardens for an evening walk. You may encounter some primates and bird species. You can also visit the shores of Lake Victoria, where you may spot some waterbirds and get used to Uganda’s beautiful nature.

Drive to Lake Mburo National Park

After a hot breakfast, meet your safari guide and pack all your luggage in the vehicle. Check out of the hotel at 7 am and drive to Lake Mburo National Park in western Uganda, south of the equator line. On your way to Lake Mburo National Park, you will have a stopover at the Uganda equator line located in Kayabwe, which is believed to be separating the planet into two parts; the Northern and Southern hemispheres.

While at the equator landmark, you will see the water experiment, which shows how forces move differently on each side of the planet and proves the difference between the two hemispheres. For example, water drains from the funnel in a clockwise motion in the Northern hemisphere, whereas it drains down in an anti-clockwise motion in the Southern hemisphere. Here, the sun rises and sets rapidly, and the temperatures and weather are constant all year.

Day 3

Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo National Park

Wake up early to have breakfast at 7 am and go for the 2-hour horseback riding safari – a nature walk on horses in the park accompanied by an experienced guide. Undoubtedly, a horseback riding safari in Lake Mburo National Park is one of the most amazing activities, giving an outstanding experience to view wildlife from a horse. During the horseback riding safari, you can view animals like zebras, impalas, and the more elusive ones (like eland) from a close range. They are curious to look at their close relatives without black and white stripes. Horse riding is the most peaceful way to explore the park since it does not leave any footprints behind or cause noise and air pollution, as it is when using a safari vehicle, which will make you feel part of nature.

Afterwards, return to your lodge for a full breakfast, check out, and start your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, with a stopover at Igongo.

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

Wake up early to have breakfast and drive to the park for the wildlife game drive by 6:30 am to have a chance to see the nocturnal hunters. These include leopards, lions, spotted hyenas, civets, genets, and caracals before they return to their hideouts.

During your early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, it is a guarantee to see elephants, herds of caped buffaloes, several antelope species like Uganda kobs, waterbucks, etc, several warthogs and some primates like olive baboons and vervet monkeys, plus lots of birds. The focus will be to search for lion prides, as Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the savannah national parks where you can encounter many lions and other predators. This is because of the large population of animals that they prey on, so they have a variety of food.
