Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will travel via the cooler highlands towards the southern Serengeti. At midday, you will reach the plains of the Serengeti National Park. This park is the largest in Tanzania and has a diversity of habitats and landscapes, short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps, and lakes. Bizarre rock formations called kopjes dot the grassy landscape where predators are often seen. The Serengeti is famous for its yearly migration when hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras trek to find fresh grass and water. You will spend the night at the lodge inside the park.

Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
The entire day will be dedicated to game drives in the Serengeti National Park. The specific areas visited will be determined by the movement of the migrating herds. Predators such as lions, leopards (often found in the acacia trees), and cheetahs typically trail closely behind these herds. In November and December, during the short rainy season, the herds migrate from the northern hills to the southern plains. They then return north during the longer rainy season from April to June. The migration patterns vary annually based on rainfall, so your guide will ensure you are in the best locations to observe these magnificent animals. Later in the day, you'll head to your accommodation in Ngorongoro for a well-deserved rest.
