Most of the park consists of a dry, ancient lake bed and fragile grassland with patches of acacia woodland. In the southern area, there is a number of small, rocky, volcanic hills. Around the swamps Ol Tukai and Enkongo Narok, the vegetation is lush with yellow barked acacias and phoenix palms. The park is known as the best place to view large herds of elephants up close. There is an immense view of Mount Kilimanjaro, which is across the border of Kenya and Tanzania. It is also dominated by vast Lake Amboseli, which is dry outside the rainy season. There are more than 600 species of birds in the park. You will spend your night at the lodge.

Amboseli- Tsavo West National Park

Today we depart by road for Tsavo West National Park. You will arrive in time for lunch and afternoon game drive. Tsavo West is the most visited section in the Tsavo National Park, offering many attractions apart from its wildlife. The foremost is the famous Mzima Springs, where up to 227.3 million liters of cool, crystal-clear water flows out of the ground through porous volcanic rocks. The water is believed to originate from Chyulu Hills via an underground river. One noteworthy place to visit is Roaring Rocks, which gets its name from the sound of the lions roaring when they are in the area. The views over Tsavo from the top of the 98m rock face are beautiful. You can also visit (and climb) the Chaimu Crater Viewpoint, a volcano less than 200 years old and composed of black coke. This area is an excellent place to look out for klipspringer, a small antelope that is as agile as its Swahili name refers to mbuzi mawe, or mountain goat.

Tsavo West- Tsavo East National Park

After breakfast, you will check out with an en-route game viewing drive at the Tsavo West with a stop at the Mzima Springs. Later, you will proceed to Tsavo East National Park after breakfast in search of its popular residents. During the day, you will enjoy a packed lunch. The sight of dust-red elephants wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of the palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300-kilometer-long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, makes for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya. It is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust–red elephants, rhinos, buffalos, lions, leopards, pods of hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, lesser kudus, gerenuks and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.
