Samburu exploration
Prepare yourself for an amazing trip along the region of the Ewaso Nyiro River, Samburu. This reserve is famous for its truly wild semi-arid landscape and the large concentration of wildlife. Samburu is popular for hosting the rare Northern Kenyan animal species (gerenuk, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich) which are not found in other popular parks and reserves in Kenya. It is also home to all of the African big cats (lion, cheetah and leopard) alongside other wildlife like elephant, buffalo, warthog, hippo, impala, waterbuck and many others.
The reserve is also a renowned bird-watching haven, with hundreds of bird species residing here. The morning game drive commences after breakfast when the animals are most active. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to photograph your sightings. Retire to the lodge for lunch and relax. In the evening, proceed with additional game viewing.

Samburu - Ol pejeta conservancy
Go on an early morning game and scenery-viewing drive after breakfast as you exit the Samburu National Reserve. Proceed to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The Conservancy boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa. In 2013, they reached a population milestone of 100 black rhinos. It also houses the two remaining northern white rhinos in the world, who were moved here from Dvůr Králové Zoo in the Czech Republic. Sadly the only Northern white rhino named Sudan was put to rest due to old age. The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is situated here. It provides a haven for orphaned, abandoned and rescued chimpanzees. It is the only place in Kenya where these great apes can be seen. The Conservancy is host to the "Big Five" among a large selection of other African animals, which makes it a popular safari destination.
