Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

On arrival at the airport, you will be met by our company representatives for a meet and greet, and briefings. You will then be driven north to Samburu National Reserve to arrive in good time for lunch. After lunch, you will proceed for an afternoon game drive in the park famous as the place for the Samburu semi-nomadic groups of men, the reticulated giraffe, the Grevy’s zebra gerenuk, Beisa oryx, and a host of the big game including elephants and lions. You will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Explore Samburu National Reserve

Full day spent in Samburu with early morning and afternoon game drives in Samburu Game Reserve, which covers 40 square miles (104 square kilometers). Ololokwe Table Mountain forms a dramatic backdrop to your wildlife viewing. Samburu is also home to the third of Kenya’s giraffe species —the rare Reticulated giraffe (only found in the Northern parks). This is also, where you see the blue-legged Somali Ostrich, the long-necked gerenuk gazelle, and the straight-horned Beisa oryx antelope other than the Big Five wildlife species. Your dinner and an overnight stay will be at your lodge in Samburu National Reserve.

Samburu National Reserve - Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After a hearty breakfast, you will depart Samburu for your journey to Nanyuki, Mount Kenya regions. Here, you will get to explore the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This is home to a successful sanctuary for rhinos as well as chimpanzees. They also have a lot of other wildlife here. Get to involve yourself in some of the activities they have such as lion tracking, and rhino monitoring amongst others (extra charges). You'll check-in at your camp and have lunch and an afternoon rest. In the evening after dinner, you will get to experience a night game drive, where it’s a unique way of seeing some of the nocturnal animals in action. This is one of the few places where it is allowed. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge.
