After eating breakfast at your hotel, your guide will brief you on the day. You will drive from Arusha to Londorossi Gate for registration and transfer to the Lemosho gate located on the western side of Kilimanjaro. You will have your picnic lunch prior to the start, you will need about 3 hours of walking to make your day. The route leads you mostly across the rain forest, large tree roots, and a lavish nature so you may expect rain, mad & sometimes fog. Reach your camp in the late afternoon on the mountain we say stay warm all the time. Hang around the camp until dinner time.

Mti mkubwa to shira 2 camp
On this day, the trek will start on a small trail that passes through the rainforest. As you climb, the forest gradually thins out and the landscape changes into heath and moorland where plants like Erica and lobelia start to dominate the landscape. You will cross the Shira Ridge and reach Shira Camp 1. Here you will stop for lunch, relax a bit and enjoy the fantastic views of Mt Meru and the Rift Valley. For the last part of the climb, you will climb another 400m in altitude. The landscape will change again at Shira Camp 2. Shira camp 2 is the final destination for this day and you will spend your evening and night there.
Be prepared for a cold night as temperatures drop below freezing point at this exposed ca.

Shira Camp 2 to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
From the Shira Plateau, we continue to the east up a ridge, passing the junction towards the peak of Kibo. As we continue, our direction changes to the South East towards the Lava Tower, called the “Shark’s Tooth” (elevation 4650m/15,250ft). After lunch, you will descend from Lava Tower (4630m) to the Barranco Campsite (3950m). The 6800m descent gives hikers a huge advantage to allow their bodies to adjust to the conditions of high altitude. The descent to camp takes around 2 hours to reach. It is located in a valley below the Breach and Great Barranco Wall (“Breakfast Wall”).
Drinking and washing water and dinner will be served as hikers view the sun setting.

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
This is a short hiking day meant for acclimatization. After early morning breakfast, it is now time to conquer the Great Barranco Wall! Although it may look intimating at first glance, hikers state that this Class 2 hike is usually much easier than they anticipated. The route then continues on sand and gravel through the rocky moors. Again and again, you will pass across streams, grasslands and the giant stone cross herbs then you will enjoy your lunch at the camp and use the rest of the day to rest and gather the strength for the following day. Overnight at Karanga Camp (3,950 m).

Karanga camp to Barrafu camp to uhuru peak
The word “barafu” in Swahili, means “ice” and this camp is located on a rocky, exposed ridge. On this day, you will continue up to the Barafu Hut. At this point, you have completed the South Circuit, which offers views of the summit from many different angles. Here you will make camp, rest, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the summit day. The two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo are to be seen from this position.
Barafu Camp to Summit to Mweka Camp
Departure from Barafu Camp (4,640 m)you will continue your way to the summit: Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). Technically the climb is relatively simple; however, the most challenging part is the high altitude. Each pair of climbers will get a personal guide for the entire ascent to monitor your physical and mental conditions. After your successful ascent to Uhuru Peak, you can descend to the nearest glacier if desired. Then you will return to Barafu Camp and after a 1-hour rest continue your descent to mweka camp.

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
A gentle trek takes us down through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where we complete park formalities and receive certificates, which you can hang up with pride following a well-deserved breakfast, your staff will have a big celebration full of dancing and singing. You'll then be met by our vehicles and return to Arusha with a drop off at the hotel for further schedules, where you can treat yourself to a welcome shower and before our big celebration.
