You will be met upon arrival and transferred to your hotel. You'll refresh and begin your sightseeing of Addis with the drive up to Entoto for a panoramic view of Addis. You'll descend and drive to the National Museum where you will have a chance to spot the oldest hominids of the ‘Lucy’ fossil. You'll visit and proceed to the Holy Trinity built during WWII. Then to the Ethnographic Museum, which used to be the palace of Emperor Hailesellase. To wrap up, you will drive to Merkato, the biggest open market in East Africa. You'll visit and drive back to your hotel for your overnight stay.

Fly Addis to Semera then Drive to Erta Ale Volcano
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Semera. You'll be met upon arrival and drive to Erta Ale, visiting en route Lake Afdera, (the salt Lake that is located in the heart of Danakil Depressions, and in this lake you may have a chance of the natural hot springs). Upon your arrival at Dodom, you will trek for an hour to reach the top of the calderas to see the active volcano.

Drive Erta Ale to Ahmed Ela
After an early breakfast, you will walk back to Dodom where you can get your car. Then, you will be loaded and continue your driving to Ahmed Ela where late in the afternoon you will get a chance to Camel Caravans, load tones of salt bars, and travel to Mekele.

Hawzen
After an early breakfast, you will have an excursion to Dallol, the second lowest point in the world next to the Dead Sea which is 116 mts below sea level. Watching the salt caravans is one of the highlights of the Dallol Depression. You'll visit and drive to Ahmed Ela to have your lunch. Then, you will drive to Hawzen for your overnight stay.

On this day, you will drive to the foot of Geraltha to visit the monastery of Debre Mariam Korkor, which dates back 6th century. After a few minutes walk from Mariam kor kor, you can visit the small rock church known as Abba Daniel's Prayer Room. Then, you will drive back to Hawzen visiting en route the Dugum Sellase, one of the oldest monasteries dating back to the 4th century.

Hawzen
After breakfast, you will drive to the foot of the Debre Tsion Mountain. You will take the important materials for your trekking to Debre Tsion Abune Abraham Monastery which is entirely carved from the living rock. You will get a chance to see the ceremonial umbrella made out of the skin of a cow which dates back to the 6th century. Then you will drive to Mariam Mariam Berakit, one of the oldest monasteries dated back to the 4th century.

Excursion to Abune Yemeata then Drive to Mekele to fly to Addis Ababa
Today is the last day in Hawzen. You will drive to Megeb and hike up to the monastery of Abune Yemata, one of the nine saints who came to Ethiopia to expand Christianity. You'll walk back and begin your journey to Mekele for your flight back to Addis. In the evening, you'll attend a folkloric dinner where you will have a chance to taste several national dishes and watch dances of the various ethnic groups of Ethiopia. The traditional coffee ceremony will also be served. Later, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure.
