Day 1

Travel to Kibale Forest National Park

Travel to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked by our driver guide from your hotel and be transferred to Kibale Forest National Park, the prime destination for chimpanzee tracking in Africa. You will have a lunch stopover on the way before continuing to your lodge at the park. You will check in at Chimpanzee Forest Guesthouse, relax and finish the day enjoying the panoramic view of Kibale National Park, ancient crater lakes and the Rwenzori mountains in sight. You will have dinner and overnight here.

Day 2

Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest

After breakfast, you will be led by an expert ranger guide for briefing and clearance for chimpanzee tracking in the forest of Kibale. You will carry with you parked lunch which you will enjoy amidst the exercise. The luck for finding these primates depends a lot on where they spent the previous night. On finding them, you will be allowed one (1) hour with these elegant apes before returning to the lodge.
After lunch and relaxation, you will go for a nature walk through the Bigodi Wetland. This place harbors various species of butterflies and it is a good spot for birding as well. A guided walk through the wetland will make your safari a spiced one.

After the afternoon/evening swamp walk, you will return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 3

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will check out of Chimpanzee Forest Guesthouse and you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a world biosphere reserve in Western Uganda. On reaching, you will check in at The Bush Lodge where you will have lunch and lunch time relaxation as you wait for an evening game drive. Buffalo, elephants, lions, leopards, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, waterbuck, Uganda kobs, impala and many more animals call this park home and they will be a great watch during your game drive here. The vast savanna terrain of this park also is a joy to watch as you cruise through the flat plains with scattered shrubs and beautiful sceneries of the escarpment and the Rwenzori mountains in wonderful park. After your evening game drive, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 4

Morning game drive and afternoon launch cruise

Morning game drive and afternoon launch cruise

You will wake up to an early breakfast after which you will go for a morning game drive in to make up for what you could have missed in the previous day. Due to ecological patterns in the natural ecosystem, doing 2 game drives at different parts of the day will grant to you a bigger opportunity of wild viewing since different animals are active at different hours of the day. After this, you shall return to the lodge for lunch and lunch time relaxation. After lunch, you will go for a launch or boat cruise. This will be done at on Kazinga channel, which is also another spectacle of beauty of this park. This channel joins two major lakes of Edward and George, and it is haunted by many animals which come to its banks to quench their thirst, mating and courtship. Hippos, crocodiles, Buffalo, Elephants, hundreds of birds including the migratory ones all can be found and seen during a boat cruise here. After this exercise, you shall return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After your breakfast, you will check out of The Bush Lodge and embark on your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This journey is interesting as you get to have a scenic view of the highlands along the way. You will reach your lodge in time convenient for you to have lunch, rest and prepare yourself for the Batwa and community visit. The Batwa are indigenous forest people who used to live at the hear of the forest, depending entirely on it. Their history, dances, folktales, art and craft will be a good addition to this safari. You will have an opportunity to participate in some of those activities. After the experience here, you will go back to the accommodation for dinner and overnight sleep, as you prepare for the next day's main event.

Day 6

Ultimate Gorilla tracking experience

After breakfast, you will be led to the park's headquarters for briefing in presence of your guide. With your packed lunch, you will start on this activity for is the biggest highlight for most tourists visiting Uganda and this park. Just like the chimps, the luck of finding the mountain gorillas depends a lot on their previous day's movement. You will track their movement following trails, pathways made through the vegetation, nests and droppings and on finding the gorilla family, you will be allowed one hour around them as you study a lot about them, their feeding habits, family hierarchy, and lifestyle in general This activity can take from 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the gorilla movements. After here, and depending on how long it takes you to find a gorilla family, you will return to the lodge for refreshment, dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 7

After your breakfast at the lodge, you will check out, your driver will help you put your bags on the vehicle and you will start your journey back to Kampala/ Entebbe.. You will stop over in Mbarara city for lunch, after which you will resume your your journey to Entebbe for your evening flight back home. This will be the end of your safari.
