Dar es salaam to mikumi national park

We depart from Dar es Salaam at about 7 am. The drive to Mikumi via Morogoro is 300km on a tarmac road. In Morogoro town, a commercial hub, you will have a 30-minute lunch break and then proceed to the park.

On your way to Mikumi, you will spot the first animals like baboons, giraffes, elephants, zebras, and buffaloes from the main road which leads through the entrance gate of the national park. After checking in at the park, you will proceed with game viewing to the plains for lion, elephant, eland, warthog, as well as hippo, crocodile, and some aquatic birds at the Hippo Pools. Leopards are also seen in this park. This park is unique in the presence of baobab trees. Due to its rich habitat, more than 400 bird species can be spotted in the park.

Continue on the game drive until sunset when you will drive to Vuma hill for dinner and overnight. The camp is located inside to the national park.

Game drive in Mikumi national park

After a delicious breakfast at the camp, our safari guide will pick you up for a full-day tour of the park. Today you will have more chances to view the animals in the varied Mikumi Floodplain and receive a lot of information from our safari guide. During lunch time, you will stop at the picnic site for lunch and then proceed with the game drive until sunset. Dinner and overnight will be at Vuma hill tented camp inside the National park.

After breakfast your guide he will picked up to kekoboga Airstrip for flying back Zanzibar around 8:30am.
