Game drive at Tarangire National Park and back to Arusha in the evening ready for Departure
After an early breakfast, you will check out from the lodge and head straight to Tarangire NP.
Tarangire National Park is a national park in the Manyara region. The park's name originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. The river is the primary source of fresh water for wild animals in the Tarangire ecosystem during the annual dry season. Ranking as the 6th largest national park in Tanzania and covering an area of 2,600 sq km, Tarangire NP is most popular for its large elephant herds. Here, it is usually very dry, in fact, drier than the Serengeti. However, its vegetation is much more green with lots of elephant grass, vast areas with mixed acacia woodlands & some of the wonderful ribbons of the aquatic forest. The giant baobab trees can live up to 600 years, storing between 300 and 900 liters of water.
In the afternoon you will break for lunch. After lunch, the game drive continues until you start driving back to Arusha for drop-off at your lodge or at the airport.
