Your day starts early with breakfast from the hotel, followed by a briefing by your head guide and then a
2-hour drive from the hotel (910m) to Londorossi Park Gate (2100m). The guides and porters prepare
and pack the supplies and your equipment at the park’s gate and registration. You'll start trekking
through the rainforest until you complete this day by entering our first camp where your tent is set up
with your personal belongings inside.

Mti Mkubwa Camp (2810m) – Shira 2 Camp (3505m)
You will depart from Mti Mkubwa to the second camp through the heath and moorland zone, following
the Shira ridge. You will enter the vast high-altitude desert plateau where the first view of Mount
Kilimanjaro unfolds on the horizon.

Shira Camp 2 (3505m) – Moir Camp (4160m)
The route now turns east into a semi-desert and rocky landscape surrounding Lava Tower. You will leave
from Shira to Moir Camp which is nested near enormous beds of volcanic rock and surrounded by rocky
hills and cliffs. On arrival at the camp, you will enter your tent which is already set with your belongings
inside.

Moir Camp (4160m) – Barranco Camp (3950m)
After spending a night at the Moir Camp, today you will test your acclimatization with a trek to the base
of Lava Tower at 4500m. Following your rest, you'll descend through Senecio Forest passing waterfalls
that usher you into the Barranco Camp. The camp is set in the shadow of the massive Barranco wall with
easterly breezes often carrying misty clouds from the Barranco Valley.

Barranco Camp (3950m) – Karanga Camp (3995m)
Today’s task will be the 150m face of the Barranco wall. At this point, you will realize how hard the
porter's work will be as this challenging scramble provides quite the balancing act for your crew. You will
arrive at the camp for a well-deserved dinner and overnight stay.

Karanga Camp ( 3995m) -Barrafu Camp (4600m)
After having breakfast with a picnic lunch en route, you will start the morning trek, a slow and steady
uphill hike. As you enter the Arctic zone, the temperatures become noticeably cooler, however,
excitement fills your camp as you make final preparations for the summit day ahead.

Barrafu Camp(3950m) – Uhuru Peak (5895m) – Mweka Camp (3100m)
Today you will face your greatest challenge, and meet the most rewarding point. You will wake up early
for preparation and a light breakfast before starting the summit. Spectacular views coupled with the
sunrise will warm your soul and strengthen your spirit as the iconic Uhuru peak is now in sight. After the
elation of a well-earned summit, you will descend back to Barafu Camp for a nice break and celebration
before continuing to Mweka Camp.

You will descend from Mweka Camp to the park gate where you are transferred back to your hotel for a
well-deserved shower.
