On the day of your arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, we will welcome you and assist you in taking over your rented car. We will also discuss your self-drive travel route, provide you with the most important tips and tricks, and answer any questions that may still be open.
You can then drive with your rented car to Midgard Country Estate, conveniently situated near the capital city of Windhoek in the middle of nature.

Stunning View at Waterberg Plateau Park
After a hearty breakfast, you leave the Midgard Country Estate and travel to your next destination, the Waterberg Plateau Park, which nestles along the base of the cliffs of the Waterberg Plateau. It towers about 200 m above the surrounding landscape.
The plateau, with its sheer cliffs and fascinating rock formations, serves as a breeding area for endangered animal species.
Wildlife such as buffalo, black rhino, or sable antelope can be found on the plateau.
The lodge terrace is an ideal spot to relax later this day. A refreshing dip in one of the two spring water swimming pools offers a welcome relief to the hot Namibian afternoon sunshine.

Etosha National Park - Namibia's Jewel
After enjoying a hearty breakfast at Waterberg Plateau Lodge, set off northward, passing through the quaint towns of Otjiwarongo, Otavi, and Tsumeb. Your destination for the evening is the welcoming and tranquil Mushara Bush Camp, located just 10 km from the Von Lindequist Gate of the iconic Etosha National Park. Upon arrival, you can venture into the park to spot a variety of wildlife, including antelope, giraffes, elephants, and, with a bit of luck, lions, hyenas, leopards, and rhinos.

Discover Etosha National Park
Another day dawns at Mushara Bush Camp. You will choose between embarking on a self-guided game drive in your rental car or joining the rangers for guided excursions in an open 4x4 vehicle, where they'll enlighten you on the local fauna and flora. These guided drives can be arranged through your accommodation.

Your day begins with the first rays of sunshine, and you drive through Etosha National Park to your next accommodation. The animals can be observed especially early in the morning. In addition to elephants, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, various antelope and a variety of bird species, you will also find lions and other predators.

Majestic Ugab Terraces and Vingerklip
You can use the morning to observe animals in the park for a few hours. Then your journey takes you to the valley of the Ugab Terraces, one of the oldest landscape formations in Namibia. Here is also the spectacular rock formation, the Vingerklippe, a 35-meter-high conglomerate rock.

Experience the Beauty of Namibia's Erongo Region
After a hearty breakfast you drive today via Omaruru along the Erongo Mountains to the Ai-Aiba Lodge.
The afternoon is available to relax at the lodge or go on a sundowner walk later that day (which is complimentary for you). Or participate in a game drive. All is bookable at the reception.

Your journey takes you towards the coast until you arrive at the charming town of Swakopmund. The drive to Swakopmund offers scenic views and plenty of interesting sights along the way. Once in Swakopmund, you'll discover a coastal town steeped in history, with unique German colonial architecture. It's a beloved vacation spot for locals and visitors alike. Swakopmund boasts fantastic shopping and a wide range of adventure activities such as boat trips, quad biking, scenic flights, skydiving, and more. Exploring Swakopmund and Walvis Bay
Today holds a special surprise for you: a kayaking adventure in the picturesque lagoon of Walvis Bay awaits. Before setting off, you'll enjoy a scenic drive along the Walvis Bay Lagoon and past the salt mines to Pelican Point. Upon arrival, you'll board a stable double kayak and embark on your paddling journey.
The seals at Pelican Point are known for their friendly and playful nature, unbothered by the presence of kayaks gliding nearby. They often approach within touching distance, displaying their curiosity. Home to up to 50,000 Cape Fur seals, Heaviside's and Bottlenose dolphins, black-backed jackals, flamingos, pelicans, and even the brown hyena, Pelican Point promises a diverse wildlife encounter.

Today, as you journey through the Gaub and Kuiseb canyons towards Sossusvlei, you'll make a pit stop in Solitaire. Don't miss out on trying the renowned apple pie at Solitaire's bakery, located at the gas station. Afterward, you'll continue your adventure through Namib Naukluft Park until you reach your lodge.
Along the way, you will relish in the breathtaking vistas that surround you. Take a moment to soak in the awe-inspiring panorama from the idyllic picnic spot atop the pass.
Sossusvlei, an absolute gem, stands as one of the most exquisite and remarkable destinations on our planet. Its ethereal beauty has the power to ignite a photographer's soul, leaving an indelible mark of inspiration. Prepare to have your senses enraptured as you explore this extraordinary place.

Visiting Sossusvlei and Deadvlei

After breakfast, you'll take the scenic route eastward, passing through the Tsaris Pass, to reach the Kalahari Desert. Your final stop is the Kalahari Anib Lodge, nestled near Mariental in the heart of the Kalahari.
Here, you'll be immersed in untouched nature and serene tranquility, allowing yourself to unwind before embarking on a thrilling 4x4 nature drive to witness the breathtaking sunset amidst the crimson dunes of the Kalahari Desert. Heading Back to Windhoek
After your thrilling journey across Namibia, it's time to head back to where it all began, Windhoek. Upon arrival, you will unwind at the hotel, pamper yourself at the spa, or take a stroll through Windhoek in the afternoon.

Saying Goodbye to Namibia
Today, you will begin your final day in Namibia with a delicious breakfast at the hotel. You will take some time to relax before heading to Windhoek International Airport for your departure.
