2 travelers on Start dateArrival arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your Safari guide will collect you from your accommodation after breakfast. You will then drive to Tarangire National Park. This transit drive is approximately two and a half hours on good tarmac roads.
The park is named after the Tarangire River which runs through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. The park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river.
You may also see giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards. There are more breeding species of birds found in Tarangire than anywhere else on the planet! The huge and ancient baobab trees can be seen here. Some of them are said to have lived for more than a thousand years.
Lunch will be at a picnic site inside the park. After your game drive, you will transit to your accommodation in Karatu.

Lake Manyara National Park
You will have an early breakfast before you set out to Lake Manyara National Park for a sunrise game drive. The lush gardens of Manyara provide fantastic viewing while driving through. The park itself has amazing landscapes that are difficult to describe with its giant figs, mahogany trees, and acacia forest.
This is one of the few places where you can find tree-climbing lions in the daytime. The lake itself is shallow and alkaline and therefore attracts lots of bird species and animals too. It is estimated to have over 450 bird species.
Elephant herds love drinking and playing in the refreshing waters of the river, which is home to lots of flamingos. Elands and zebras join in to water and grassy plains. This park also has a growing population of baboons and blue monkeys.
In the afternoon, you will transfer back to Arusha to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home.
