Nairobi - Masai Mara

After breakfast, we will pick you up and drive to Masai Mara, stopping at the Great Rift Valley. We continue driving through Longonot and Suswa and onto the Western walls with another stopover at Narok for re-fueling. We have lunch before arriving at the camp in the Mara.

We go for an evening game drive in the Mara, which is famous for the Big Five (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino). We return to the camp late evening, just in time for dinner. A campfire gathering under the clear African sky follows after dinner.

Masai Mara National Reserve (full day)

Have breakfast at 6:30 am and depart for a full-day game viewing. This is the most important day since we hope to see the Big Five, especially the big cats who are extremely elusive. We will also visit the famous Mara River, where the great migration occurs. Enjoy a guided tour by the rangers to see the Nile crocodiles and hippo families, and, to top it off, have a picnic lunch under a tree in the park overlooking the vast landscapes.

It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place - the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savannah; lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas and vultures.

Return for dinner and overnight at the camp.

Masai Mara - Nairobi

After breakfast at 7:30 am, commence preparations for returning to Nairobi. Go on an optional nature walk and visit a Maasai village (at an extra cost), or walk to view the sunrise. After that, depart Mara and stop for lunch at Mai Mahiu.

You will arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon or evening.
