Day 1

Nairobi - Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Nairobi - Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Your safari will start with a pick-up at your hotel in Nairobi. After a brief meet and greet, our office representative will hand you over to your driver-guide. You will then drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

On your way, you will have a stopover at the equator line in Nanyuki for a hemisphere demonstration. The experience is wonderful. You’ll then make your way to the conservancy and check in. You’ll freshen up and have some time to rest and enjoy the property after having a hot lunch.

Later, you will go on a game drive to the chimpanzee sanctuary and visit Morani, the Ol Pejeta blind rhino. You may also opt to visit the only two remaining northern white rhinos in the world. The conservancy also houses Sweetwater’s Chimpanzee Sanctuary for orphaned, abandoned, and rescued chimpanzees, the only one of its kind in Kenya.

After the amazing experience with these endangered species, you’ll head back to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2

After breakfast at the camp, you will head to Lake Nakuru National Park. On your way, you will have a stopover at Nyahururu for a chance to see the 74-meter Thomson’s Falls. The oceanic breeze is wonderful here. You will then make your way to Nakuru, arriving in time for lunch. At around 4:00pm, after having some time to relax, you will go on an afternoon game drive. This park is renowned for hosting thousands, sometimes millions, of flamingos, hundreds of black and white rhinos, and highly endangered Rothschild’s giraffes. It also offers wonderful views of the Makalia Waterfall. After the game drive, you will head to the camp to freshen up and eat a freshly prepared hot dinner. Your overnight stay will also be at the camp.

Day 3

After breakfast, you will head to the Masai Mara, one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves. On your way, you will have a stopover at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for a panoramic view of the escarpment. You will arrive at the Masai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch.

Around 4:00pm, after having some rest, you’ll go on an afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara is the highlight of every safari in Kenya. The reserve has the highest concentration of wildlife in the country. All the “Big Five” can easily be spotted together with many other animals.

If your safari falls from July to October, you will have the privilege of witnessing the 7th Wonder of the World, the Great Migration, especially while crossing the crocodile-loaded Mara River.

After the game drive, we will head back to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 4

On this full day in the Masai Mara, you will have three options to choose from to enjoy this beautiful place:

Option 1: Have breakfast and exit the lodge with a packed lunch in hand for a full day game drive in the reserve, searching for the “Big Five” and other animals.

Option 2: Opt for an early morning game drive in search of the big cats and their kills. Return for breakfast, freshen up, and spend the rest of the mid-morning at your leisure, either swimming in the pool or just relaxing. Later, have lunch and begin your evening game drive around 4:00pm, searching for the “Big Five” and other animals.

Option 3: Opt for a hot air balloon ride (USD $450pp extra) in the early morning, followed by mid-morning game drives before returning to the lodge for lunch. Later, go on an afternoon game drive paired with an optional Maasai village visit (USD $30pp extra).

After the game drive, you will head to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5

Start your day with a delicious breakfast before embarking on an en-route game drive to Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival, check in at the resort and take some time to relax and enjoy the scenic surroundings. Later, enjoy a hot lunch at the lodge.

After lunch, you will be driven to Lake Naivasha for a hippo boat ride (optional, extra costs apply) and the Crescent Island Animal Sanctuary Tour, which is the highlight of your stay in Naivasha.

Hippo Boat Ride: Experience a bout tour around the lake to observe the hippos. Listen to the haunting call of a fish eagle high over the lake as it prepares to grab fish from the water, creating a perfect getaway experience.

Animal Sanctuary Tour: Explore one of the most beautiful parks in Kenya, often called Naivasha’s best-kept secret. This tour is perfect for wildlife watching, bird enthusiasts, and all fans of the wilderness.

Later, head back to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 6

After breakfast, you will drive to Amboseli National Park. The park is renowned for offering the best opportunity in Africa to observe over 1600 free-ranging elephants and other wildlife species up close. Other attractions in the park include cultural encounters with the Maasai people and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Additionally, you will have the chance to capture the unique African sunset and sunrise.

Upon arrival at Amboseli National Park, you will check in at the lodge and enjoy a hot lunch. Around 4:00pm, after some relaxation, you will leave the lodge for an afternoon game drive. Following the game drive, you will return to the camp, freshen up, and then indulge in a hot dinner. You will spend the night at the same camp.

Option one: You may opt to start with an early morning game drive, return for a hot breakfast, freshen up, and then spend the rest of the mid-morning at your leisure, either swimming in the pool or just relaxing. Later, enjoy lunch and then embark on an evening game drive. Finally, return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Option two: Alternatively, you may choose to have an early breakfast and proceed for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch in hand. Return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

After breakfast, check out and enjoy a final game drive as you depart from the hotel. Transfer to the train station and board the morning inter-county train heading to Mombasa. Upon arrival at Miritini SGR Terminus, our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Diani. Here, you can enjoy the amazing sandy beaches and relax after an epic eight days on safari in the bush.

After an early breakfast, you will head to the train station for your ride back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon. You will be picked up and transferred to the airport or a city hotel, depending on your flight schedule.

While in Nairobi, you can partake in some exciting excursions, such as a visit to the Giraffe Center, a stroll through the Maasai Market for souvenirs, and/or a dinner at the famous Carnivore Restaurant, known for its variety of meats.

This marks the end of your amazing, eight-day Kenyan safari, filled with lots of fun and lifelong memories.
