Today, you will have a leisurely breakfast at your lodge. You will then make your way to Deception Valley in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve where you'll experience the beauty of ancient riverbeds, dunes, and wildlife of Botswana's Kalahari Desert. You will enjoy game drives to explore this area. Camping will be in private designated campsites.

An early morning light breakfast prepares you for your game drives to explore this “waterless oasis” known as Deception Valley, which was named after the riverbed which evokes the illusion of containing water. Home to a diverse population of wildlife, the area’s mature woodland entices large herds of greater kudu, red hartebeest, springbok, gemsbok, and elands but also predators including caracals, Cape foxes, lions, cheetahs, and brown hyenas, which you should see on your morning and afternoon game drives.

Day 5-6

Makgadikgadi Pans National Park

Makgadikgadi Pans National Park

You will spend the next 2 nights camping and exploring Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. Makgadikgadi Pans National Park is definitely one of the most unique places for a safari when in Botswana. Predators are enticed into the area with the migration of zebras and wildebeest in the summer months. Both lions and cheetahs can be found regularly. Elephants have also become a more regular sighting with the introduction of pumped pans in the area.

Day 7-8

Moremi Game Reserve

Moremi Game Reserve

An early morning light breakfast prepares you for your game drives to explore Moremi Game Reserve, one of the best wilderness areas of Botswana which covers swamp and dry areas.

The next 2 days will be spent searching for the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is renowned for while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region. Camping will be in private designated campsites.

Our game drives will take you to the park’s most beautiful areas such as Xinyi, Black Pools, Xakanaxa, and Third Bridge. There is plenty of game in these areas with a good chance of seeing elephants, buffalos, giraffes, lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals, and many different antelopes, including red lechwe and sitatunga, the web-footed antelope perfectly adapted to life in the swamps, as well as a wide variety of birdlife. African wild dogs whose numbers are so rapidly dwindling elsewhere, are regularly sighted in the Moremi Game Reserve.

Located just outside the northeastern boundaries of the Moremi Game Reserve, Khwai offers unmatched wildlife encounters, including spectacular bird-watching opportunities. Here, you’ll enjoy great wildlife viewing, including night game drives, as animals gather around various watering holes and the Khwai River. This wildlife-rich area is one of the best places in Botswana to see African wild dogs and other predators and, with no fences separating any of these areas, you are likely to see just about everything that northern Botswana has to offer.
