The Ngorongoro Crater and surrounding highlands together form one of Africa's most beautiful regions. Volcanic craters create stunning backdrops to some of the most fertile and richest grazing grounds in Africa. The most famous crater is Ngorongoro, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Ngorongoro is rightfully one of the continent's most famous safari destinations and is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crater was formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed around the million years ago.
After a full day of experiencing Ngorongoro, you will drive to Karatu and check in at the hotel.
