Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

The driver will leave Kigali early in the morning for Nyungwe National Park. Enjoy the countryside landscape as you drive past different vegetation. You will have a short stop at the Ethnographic Museum in Huye if this is of interest to you. This museum will give you a comprehensive history of Rwandan and you will learn about this beautiful country.

Chimpanzee Trekking and Colobus Monkey Trekking

We'll leave early in the morning for chimpanzee tracking in the Nyungwe forest at the Uwinka Park headquarters. There are two main trails for chimp trekking i.e. Uwinka trail and another at Cyamudongo. After the briefing, you will start the chimp trek where you are allowed 1 hour with the chimps after which you leave.

In the afternoon, return to the forest for Colobus monkey trekking. Depending on where they are located, the community guide will lead you and they are in contact with the rangers who stay with them. Just like Chimpanzee, you will stay with them for one hour after which you exit.

Canopy Walk and Departure to Kigali

Use the morning after breakfast for a canopy walk in the park. The trail head starts from the Uwinka office where you take a 2 hour hike in the forest.

After this experience, you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
