2 travelers on Start dateThe Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary was established in 1998 and is found on Lake Victoria with its major aim of caring for rescued orphaned chimpanzees mainly from poachers and failed attempts by people to smuggle them out of Uganda. The island is located approximately 63 km from Kampala city Uganda's main Capital.
Your driver-guide from African Adventure Travellers will meet with you to embark on your adventure journey on Lake Victoria which measures 68,800 sq km crossing the equator from the North and south poles. Normally, if you request the boat captain to stop at the equator, the boat will be pushed by the south and north pole forces tending to keep in one position or when the boat crosses the equator. If observed, the boat engine will tend to use a little more energy to beat the equator line.
