Day 1

Arusha to Lake manyara

Arusha to Lake manyara

We'll pick you up from your accommodation and embark on a 2-hour drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Upon arrival, we'll check in at the park's entrance, where our game drive will begin. The area around the entrance is lush with green forest, and you might spot primates high in the trees. Despite being one of Tanzania's smaller parks, Lake Manyara is renowned for its unique charm and is famous for its resident tree-climbing lions. You'll have plenty of opportunities to take photos as you encounter giraffes, elephants, and antelopes.

We'll stop for lunch at a scenic picnic spot by the lake's edge. Lake Manyara National Park is also a haven for bird enthusiasts, offering the chance to see a variety of both large and small birds, many of which are vibrantly colored.

In the late afternoon, we'll drive to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, we will drive to the Ngorongoro Crater early in the morning, check-in at the gate, and descend 600m to reach the crater floor. The size of the crater floor is 260 square kilometers. The Ngorongoro Crater is a self-dependent ecosystem, home to carnivores and herbivores. If you are lucky, you may see the Big Five (lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffaloes). At Lake Magadi, you will see several water birds, including beautiful flamingoes, herons, and pelicans. The Lerai Forest is home to baboons, monkeys, elephants, bushbucks, waterbucks, and even leopards! The Munge River is the source of fresh water in the area and has swamp areas—the place to see hippos and other animals as they graze. In the afternoon, we will take you to a picnic site where you can see hippos up close.

After lunch, we have an en-route game drive as we ascend from the crater floor and drive directly to Serengeti National Park.
