Kasane to Chobe National Park

Before heading to Chobe National Park, you'll arrive in Kasane to meet your safari guide. After a leisurely game drive, you will arrive at your designated campsite where the rest of the safari team will welcome you to your home for the next 2 nights.

You'll have time to relax, before heading out for an afternoon game drive through the beautiful scenery of this part of Chobe National Park. Wildlife viewing will focus on the Chobe Riverfront area where the greatest concentrations of wildlife gather. Highlights include lions, leopards, cheetahs, African wild dogs, elephants, buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, impalas, kudu, sable antelopes, bushbucks, blue wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, and warthogs.

Main Destination:

Day 2

Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park

An early start, as you set off for a morning of wildlife viewing along the banks of the Chobe River, before returning to the camp for brunch. Vast numbers of game are drawn to the river's cool waters and each day you drive out not knowing what you might see. This is also an ideal time to track predators while they are most active.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a sunset boat cruise. Elephants are in large herds along the Chobe River. The elephants love frolicking in the river and might even swim to the islands. Buffalos enjoy the sweet grasses on the islands, occupying these islands in large numbers. Birding is exceptional —bee-eaters, fish eagles, waders, and many more water birds frequent the riverfront area.

After the cruise, you'll enjoy a leisurely game drive to your camp, as the sun sets over the Chobe River. Expect to arrive at camp just before dark where dinner will be freshly prepared and enjoyed around a roaring campfire under the African sky.

Chobe National Park to Savuti

This morning, you will depart the Chobe Riverfront area and head southwest to Savuti, through the heart of Chobe National Park. The drive will be at a leisurely pace, allowing you plenty of time to stop and view wildlife along the way.

As you approach Savuti, you can expect to see a change in the environment, from the lush floodplains beside the Chobe River to Savuti's almost desert-like landscape— mainly characterized by camelthorn sandveld, scrub savannah, and mopane veld.

Upon arrival, you will find your designated camp set up and ready. Dinner will be freshly prepared and enjoyed around a roaring campfire under the African sky.

Day 4-5

Savuti

Savuti

On both days, you will continue your game drives and make your way to several places of interest within the Savuti area. As you continue your search for wildlife, you will traverse the drier region of Savuti where bull elephants dot the plains.

Savuti lies in the more remote central region of the Chobe National Park and offers dramatic wildlife viewing and a somewhat eerie atmosphere. It is also well known as one of the best areas for big cat viewing. The Savuti lion pride has earned a fearsome reputation for hunting elephants, but other predators like leopards, African wild dogs, spotted hyenas, and even cheetahs are also abundant in the area.

Day 6

Savuti to Khwai Concession

Savuti to Khwai Concession

Your journey continues south, as you leave Savuti and travel into the Okavango region. Your destination is Khwai Concession, located just outside the northeastern boundaries of the Moremi Game Reserve.

This wildlife-rich area is one of the best places in Botswana to see African wild dogs and other predators and, with no fences separating any of these areas, you are likely to see just about everything that northern Botswana has to offer.
