Today, the crater spans over 19 kilometers wide and is filled with diverse habitats, including acacia forests, hippo-filled swamps, and open grasslands. These habitats are home to over 30,000 animals, including elephants, warthogs, flamingos, a variety of birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros, and all the predatory cats.
