Day 1

Nairobi – Nanyuki

Nairobi – Nanyuki

Transfer from your airport or hotel towards the departure. Depart Nairobi in shared transport for the Mount Kenya area – arrive in Nanyuki late afternoon. Enjoy scenic drive. Enjoy afternoon acclimatize and prepare for Mount Kenya Climb. Dinner and overnight at a camp.

Day 2

Nanyuki – Judmier Camp

Nanyuki – Judmier Camp

After breakfast Proceed to Sirimon Gate, 1 hr, 2440m. From the gate follow the track as it winds uphill through the forest which becomes heathland after about 3 hrs. About 3½ hours from the gate the track veers right to Judmier Camp, 3300m for dinner and overnight, L, D.

Day 3

Judmier Camp – Shipton Camp

Judmier Camp – Shipton Camp

After breakfast, follow the track uphill, forking left at the junction. After one hour from Old Moses Camp, the route crosses the Ontulili River. Go right contouring through the Moorland and crossing Liki North and continue uphill to Mackinders Valley from where panoramic views up the valley towards the main peaks. Dinner and overnight at Shipton Camp, 4200m, B, L, D.

Day 4

Shiptons – Point Lenana – Old Moses Camp

Shiptons – Point Lenana – Old Moses Camp

Leave at 3 am up a steep stony quarry that cuts through a cliff clearing visible part towards lower Hall Tarns arriving at point Lenana at 6:30 am, taking about 3hrs. After sunrise, descend down to Shiptons 2hrs, for breakfast and further hrs down to Judmier Camp, 3300 m, for dinner and overnight, B, L, D.

Day 5

Old Moses – Nanyuki – Nairobi
