Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met Lion Safaris representative and take you to a city tour of Kigali: The history of Rwanda dates back centuries, Kigali has been a part of it for 100 years. Founded in 1907 as a German settlement, Kigali did not become the capital until Rwanda’s independence in 1962 when it replaced the colonial seat of power in Butare.
Visit the old Kigali and the craft centres then visit the genocide memorial site. Learn about Rwanda’s history from pre-colonial times to the 1994 genocide, learn about other genocides in the world and how this country has dealt with that past. Tour more and see the new developments in Rwanda, the recovery has been incredible, a testament to humankind’s resilience, then after it will be the drive to the hotel for Dinner and Overnight.

Drive To Nyungwe National Park

In the morning, after your breakfast, Lion Safaris Driver guide will come to pick you up from your hotel, Then drive south for a visit of the historical towns of Nyanza and Butare. Visit the Nyanza Kings Palace and the Huye ethnographic museum.
Lunch enroute. Then after lunch you will continue the road and reach Nyungwe national park and register for Canopy walk which a very amazing high bridge over impenetrable forest where you enjoy the view of a whole park.
After enjoyment is the drive heading to the lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

Chimpanzees Trekking&Drive Back To Kigali

Early in the morning, after having your break fast, our driver guide will come to pick you up from your lodge then you go to the park local guide for a briefing about how to behave when you meet Chimpanzees in the nature.
The local guide will lead you into the jungle for the search of Chimpanzees, when you meet them you will be given a good 1 hour to enjoy them and here you can take many pictures as you want.
The trekking may take from 1 hour to 5 hours depending to what chimpanzees are doing in their natural habitat.
Here you carry water, packed lunch, hiking shoes, long slives
After enjoying them, the driver guide will drive you back to Kigali and drop you off at your hotel/residence in Kigali or at the Airport for your late evening flight back home.
