Day 1

Nairobi – Drive to Amboseli National Park

Rise early to enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast, you will drive to Amboseli National Park (you might spot some game along the way!). Amboseli shelters more than 420 species of birds and has a sizable elephant population. Other big game are attracted to the area by the underground springs that are fed from the melting snows of Mount Kilimanjaro in neighboring Tanzania. Lunch will be served at the camp before you depart for an afternoon game drive. In the evening, you will return to the lodge to enjoy a scrumptious dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

Explore Amboseli

Explore Amboseli

Rise early in the morning for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds obscure its summit. Afterward, you will set out on a game drive to view Amboseli’s excellent wildlife, which includes everything from wildebeest to giraffes to baboons.

After returning to the lodge for breakfast, you will visit a Masai village. Amboseli is home to the legendary Maasai tribesmen. The Maasai are a famous and proud nomadic tribe known for their legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts of bravery in fights with the wild animals that surround them.

Midday will find you at your lodge for lunch and an afternoon rest, followed by another game drive. You will spend the night at Kibo Camp or in similar accommodation.

Day 3

Depart Amboseli for Nakuru

Depart Amboseli for Nakuru

You depart Amboseli after breakfast. Our destination today is Lake Nakuru National Park. We will stop for lunch at an upscale restaurant in Nairobi and reach the park in time for an afternoon game drive. You can expect to see buffalo, rhino, giraffe, zebra, antelope and the lion that prey on them, as well as vast flocks of flamingos clustered near the lakeshore. Lake Nakuru is famous for having the highest concentration of flamingos in the world and is home to over three hundred bird species. Leopards are sometimes seen sleeping on the horizontal branches of the "fever trees". The park is also a sanctuary for both the black and white rhinos.

Supper will be eaten at our lodge overlooking the lake. Overnight will be spent at Lake Nakuru Lodge or similar.

Day 4

Nakuru – Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve

Nakuru – Drive to Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, you will depart for the Masai Mara National Reserve. You will travel through Masai country, occasionally coming across Maasai herdsman with their livestock living harmoniously with the surrounding wildlife. After lunch at your residence lodge, you will participate in another game drive amidst these vast rolling grasslands.

Here we find the Old Africa of the movies, with endless grasslands dotted by acacia trees and sweeping plains teeming with wildlife. No matter how much you have thought about Africa, this is more you than you have expected – and the ideal backdrop for a hot air balloon expedition!

During our stay we will also visit a village of the Maasai people to witness the singing and dancing that are a part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. You will overnight at AA mara Lodge or similar.

Day 5

Explore Masai Mara

Today you will participate in morning and afternoon game drives in the magnificent Masai Mara National Reserve. The reserve is famous for its annual wildebeest migration that takes place between the months of July and October. During this time, over a million wildebeests, accompanied by thousands of other herbivores, migrate from Serengeti National Park to the Mara in search of greener pastures. Hundreds of lions and hyenas will follow them preying on the old and weaker ones. The legendary black-maned lion is only found in Masai Mara. The mighty cheetah also hunts best on these open grasslands.

You will have an overnights at AA MARA or similar. Today’s meal plan includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 6

You will take part in one more early morning game drive before returning to your camp or lodge for a proper sit-down English breakfast. After breakfast concludes, we will return to Nairobi and check in to a hotel for day room use.

The rest of the day may be spent at your leisure for last-minute shopping and sightseeing. In the evening, you will be transferred to the airport for flight check-in and boarding. You will take home a smile and a lifetime of memories!
