Day 1

Pick Up and Road Transfer to Tsodilo Hills

Pick Up and Road Transfer to Tsodilo Hills

You'll arrive in Maun from Johannesburg. Your guide Vincent will pick you up from the airport and head straight to Tsodilo. You will reach Tsodilo just before sunset where you will find your camp readily pitched. You will have time to rest and have a warm shower. In the evening, you will get an introduction to Tsodilo by a local guide while sitting around the fire. This will be the time to learn the history and traditions of the Basarwa through their folklore stories.

Our Meru tents measure 4 x 4 m. You will sleep on normal beds, and each tent has a private veranda and bathroom. The bathroom has a toilet, shower, and sink. Our staff will take care of all the camp chores.

Day 2

Tsodilo Hills Tour

Tsodilo Hills Tour

On this day, you'll be spending the day in Tsodilo which will give you time to grasp and immerse in the culture of Basarwa. You will start the day with breakfast and then leave for the hills to see the rock paintings by the Basarwa. The local guide will explain the significance of the paintings and how they came about.

In the afternoon, you will have another walk with Basarwa. Now, they'll take you through their way of life i.e. what they eat, how they collect their food, and their way of hunting. The day will then be summed up by an eventful cultural display by the local traditional group who will showcase their dance moves around a bonfire.

Day 3

Transfer to Maun

Transfer to Maun

You will leave Tsodilo in the morning after breakfast and head towards Maun.
You will reach Maun after midday and go to the lodge to relax. The afternoon will be an easy one giving you time to relax and prepare for yet another excursion the next day. You can use the day to buy any last-minute supplies.
For camping in all areas, you will use spacious Meru tents with comfortable beds and clean bedding, verandah, and an enclosed shower and toilet.

Day 4

Nxai Pan National Park

Nxai Pan National Park

You'll leave Maun early in the morning for Nxai Pan. The drive to reach the Nxai Pan entrance will take you 1 and a half hours (137 km). You will continue driving towards your camp, 60 km from the gate entrance. You will arrive at the camp around noon to settle in. You will do a game drive in the afternoon around Nxai Pan.

Day 5

Makgadikgadi Pans National Park (Ntwetwe Pan)

Makgadikgadi Pans National Park (Ntwetwe Pan)

You will do a short game drive in the morning before heading off to Makgadikadi (Ntwetwe Pan) where you will arrive in the afternoon. You will have time to relax, before leaving for the meekarts experience as an afternoon activity. Later, you'll do stargazing around the fire. You will only get back to the camp in the evening in time for dinner.

You will enjoy a delicious breakfast in the morning before heading out to spend time with Basarwa. In this activity, you will learn about the Basarwa culture and tradition. After this experiential interaction, you will leave for Maun. You'll arrive in the afternoon at the lodge, and do a helicopter scenic flight over the Okavango in the afternoon.

The trip to Moremi Game Reserve is approximately a 3 to 4-hour drive. Upon reaching Moremi South Gate, you will do a slow game drive and only reach the camp in the evening. You will find an already set camp by our staff. On arrival, you will have a warm shower and a delicious dinner prepared by one of the best bush chefs!

You will wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, and head off to Savuti. The drive to Savuti is approximately 5 hours with packed lunch served en route. On arrival, you will find the camp already set up by our camp staff, which will give you enough time to relax and freshen up for a good dinner prepared on fire before your good night's sleep under canvas.

You will reach Kasane just before lunch to check in at a lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will do a boat cruise in the magnificent Chobe River.
